	         	         <description>The Reform Bill has come about as a result of the recommendations from the government taskforce&#039;s review of the effectiveness of Health and Safety Employment Act 1992.

The taskforce made a number of recommendations for change. Together with the findings from the Royal commission of Enquiry into the Pike River Coal Mine Tragedy the government has promoted the Health and Safety Reform Bill. This will see some major changes to Health and Safety legislation within New Zealand.
